El problema de la integración a bordo
With so many gadgets on board, the captain finally doesn´t know where to place them. After all, in Spain only 5% of the boats are longer than 12metres approximately.
Many gadgets are besides wrongly designed to carry their own display, multiplying to infinite the number of displays where the captain has to check all the available information.
On the contrary, the trend for some is starting to be different. Some start believing that it makes more sense to carry a unique information system on board, capable of integrating information from black boxes, i.e., devices able of receiving and/or transmitting their relevant information, but not displaying it.
Hopefully we will soon start seeing how even the smallest boats start carrying a more modular and rational information system on board that the Captain can gradually increase.
