We found in our favourite forum this interesting website where it explains basically all the communication devices in the GMDSS.

You should after doing it be able to operate a VHF radio, a Navtex receiver, the SART (Search and rescue transponder), and the EPIRB. (Oh my God!! They forgot AIS!! No worries, that’s what we are here for )

It is very interesting how, due to the internet and GSM, new generations have forgotten all the knowledge accrued by radio-amateurs through the years. We believe it is really fascinating knowing from both worlds!

Fleetbroadband

We have just started working with the Fleetbroadband high speed IP communication device. We are really impressed with its capabilities.

Basically, and as a summary, we can say that it Fleetbroadband is a product group that lets a broadband internet connection via satellite, with worldwide coverage, allowing besides to use your satellite phone simultaneously (included in the product)

We are really happy to work with it because we believe that is a killer product for all of those who wish to have access to the best weather forecast information, to keep in touch with their loved ones, etc.

ais en regatas

Maybe soon, class B AIS will become the perfect tool for regata tracking also in Spain, just as it already is in Sweden’s Gotland Runt regatta.

In last year’s edition, up to 70 boats were carrying our transponder.
