There is nothing like tracking a well-known regatta, to get tons of visits in your site :) We are currently having an average of 1000 visits approx, with quite higher peaks some days.

There is a lot of buzz in the forums and the hundreds of messages supporting the teams prove it.
In a transatlantic regatta anything can happen. Trouble with moroccan fishermen nets, ships abandoning for technical reasons, etc…

Maybe the most interesting part is following the different strategies of the participants trying to get the best winds according to the meteo forecasts. Some try the direct way, some a more southern route, etc…

In spite of the difficulties morale is still high. We wish to know the conclusion of the competition. Until then, we recommend tracking the development in the blog of the organization, or just google in several forums like “La Taberna” the name of the regatta.

It is already two boats in OPEN category in the Gran Prix regatta, that will be still taking part in it, although using the engine.

We regret it, but conditions of calm winds in the Atlantic can be desperating for anyone.

We invite you to add your comments and suggestions at this post. All possible improvements will be considered, and if possible on a reasonable time, will be added to the tracking webpage.

We’ve added the features we mentioned in previous posts, in the satellite tracking website; features that will let you know the situation of waves, winds and even atmospheric pressure. You can see an example in the www.atlanticsource.es/granprix webpage.

This web service has been created so that private boaters, charter companies, regatta organizers and owners of fishing or shipping fleets can manage their boats/ships in a comfortable way with an easy access to the web that can be public (as in the case of the gran prix regatta) or private, as in the case of customers willing to keep private the location of their assets for security reasons.

Actually the best about the web service is how easy it is to customize the features to the needs of our customers. For the same reason, private boaters can easily access a high quality service that was previously only available to few customers.

We hope you enjoy it!

The Gran Prix is coming up soon, and participants are getting last things ready for the challenge. We’ve launched our latest version for the satellite location, that you can have a look at on www.atlanticsource.es/granprix.

Pictures from the participants are available as well as from their boats, besides a mouse locator, which lets you automatically know the latitude and longitude of the mouse anywhere in the map. We have some new features that will be available soon and very much hope you’ll like them all.

Note for participants: We accept suggestions if you are interested on features we may have not yet thought about.
